about eric
I have been working in marketing for a little over a decade - helping people tell effective and compelling stories through both creative design and content development. Over those 10-plus years, I’ve spent time in-house working at nonprofits, as well as managing a variety of clients at an agency. This experience has given me a well-rounded perspective about the challenges facing both. Whether It’s the bureaucracy and reactive nature that impacts in-house marketing, or the deadlines and high-expectations of agency life, I’ve learned the most important thing to do is “listen first.”
Author Stephen Covey said it best: “seek first to understand, then to be understood.” Clients, customers, members of a nonprofit, fellow colleagues – they all want to be heard. If we give them that opportunity to talk about their passion, personal values, and what makes them do what they do, we can help tell more compelling and authentic stories.
I believe in servant leadership and bringing teams together through a shared vision. My success comes from lifting people up around me, including clients, colleagues, friends – and giving them the tools they need to be successful. I am passionate about finding out what people value, uncovering their “why,” and working tirelessly to ensure their stakeholders understand and buy-into those beliefs.
what do you value?
Tell me why you do what you do. I believe great branding begins by understanding a company’s internal culture. Why did your company’s founders start the business in the first place? Making money is an outcome, not a passion - tell me what makes your company and its employees tick. Then we can create!
